However, examining the count show this John Beaty, in 1840, having three males under the age of 5 which would be Houston Beaty b. 1835, Napoleon Ewing Beaty b.1836 and Richard Burgoin Beaty b. 1837. Also listed 1 male between 30 and 40 years, John Beaty at 31 years old and 1 female between 20 and 30 years which is Sarah Ewing Beaty at 25 years old. Also to note, John and Sarah had three slave girls. (need verification)

Cemetery notes and/or description: Located East of the town of Rose Hill on the property of the Constitutional Oaks Industrial Park which was the Beaty Farm in the 1800's; Appx. 1/2 mile east of Rt 667 (Old Nursery Rd.)on the North side of Hwy 58.

Data from John's father Richard's will dated 2 Mar 1844 in Lee Co VA. Richard Buroyn is mentioned as John's son. In Sarah Ewing Beaty's father's will Samuel mentions his daughter Sarah Beaty in 1850. Will Book 2 p. 37 Lee Co VA. !Data from "Early Settlers of Lee Co VA." by Laningham p. 59 states that John Morton and Sarah Jane Ewing Beaty lived in Tennessee across the river from Midway. All 7 of their children were born in Tennessee. In the Beaty article, his birthdate is given as 5 Feb 1809 and in the Ewing (p123) article it is given as 23 Jan 1809. !MAR:Given as 23 Sep 1834 by Laningham & Bales and as 25 Sep 1834 by Carson & Wooley, Our Ewing Heritage (1996) Vol 2 p892
